Muslim American Families

Muslim families who live in America, or have lived in America, or will live in America get together and write about our experiences. This site is designed for non-Madhab adherants because there are many sites for Madhab followers already, and we need a space also. Bring your love for Allah, our Compassionate, Loving, Eternal Lord, and his last prophet, dear Muhammad, and post away.

Introduction -- Quran and Sunnah, not Madhabs

Bismillah, In the name of Allah, In the name of God,

This is a starting point for Muslim moms who are not Madhab adherents. May Allah, SWT, the Most Glorious, bless our time together by increasing our knowledge, patience, strength, and submission to our Beloved Lord, The Most Merciful, The Most Loving, The Most Gracious.

    interesting,
would like to know, why not madhab adherents,
you dont have to follow them blindly like many people do,
but to follow them, every lay person does to some extent because we do not have the knowledge the scholars do.

    wasalaamu Alaykum

Why is it hard to conceptualize that a person living in the 20th century knows about things that someone living in the 14th century didn't ever hear of? Did our beloved Prophet Muhammad know what cars were? No. But I do.

In each situation we must take the facts and knowledge available to us and apply our Islaamic knowledge and Islaamic ideals and decipher the best course of action or inaction for us. Following blindly a set of rules made for people a thousand years ago is not practical. Using the principles behind those ideas is what Muslims are charged with.

    Peace
